Baby’s Eyes, Private Part Removed In Hospital

Angry youths of Abule Iroko in Ogun State, southwest Nigeria, have vandalised an ambulance and an SUV at a medical centre in the area following the mutilation of a 13-month old boy, Obinna Ole.


P.M.NEWS gathered that trouble started when the parents of the child, Mr. and Mrs. Obinna Joseph Ole, wanted to take the corpse of their dead child home for burial on Sunday and discovered that the eyes, tongue, ears and his private part had been removed.

The parents, P.M.NEWS learnt, raised an alarm which attracted other people around the area and the youths quickly mobilised themselves and stormed the hospital. They vandalised everything on sight.

According to a police source, if not for the timely arrival of the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, in charge of Sango Police Station, Supol Gabriel Dibie and a team of detectives from Sango, the Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Babawale Funsho Joshua would have been lynched.

When P.M.NEWS visited the hospital Monday, only police detectives were around. Two vehicles parked in the compound, an ambulance with registration number LND 850 AA and Honda Odyssey SUV marked FST 555 AU, were damaged by the rampaging youths, while glass windows in the building were smashed.

Following the attack, the police from Sango moved in and arrested the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Babawale Funsho Joshua and three others.

Ogun State Police Command spokesman, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the arrest, said the medical doctor was arrested alongside three others in connection with the incident

“Obinna Ole was on admission at the hospital for an ailment before he eventually died. The story became astonishing when the father, Mr. Obinna Ole, went to claim the corpse of his late baby and discovered that the eyes, tongue, two lips, two ears, joystick, nails and the left hand vein of young Ole had been cut-off.

“Policemen attached to Ota Division, led by the DPO, CSP Gabriel Dibie, moved to the scene and arrested the suspects,” Adejobi disclosed.

He confirmed that the corpse of the baby had been deposited at the Ifo General Hospital for autopsy.

Three others arrested with Dr. Joshua are Oguntunde Opeyemi, Olaide Adeyanju and Temitope Muraina.

Adejobi disclosed further that the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye, ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department at Eleweran to investigate the matter.

He assured the public that the police would unravel the truth of the matter.

Shrine Of Man That Killed His Mum Demolished By Police

OWERRI — The shrine of controversial Chief Chimezie Bede Osigwe, the man who allegedly killed his mother, embalmed her body and kept the skeleton for about 10 years in his cupboard, has been destroyed by a combined team of Nigeria Police and Imo Security Network. Vanguard investigations revealed that the demolition commenced, yesterday morning, at Ejemekwuru, Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, as soon as the security men arrived the rural community. The presence of security personnel and a heavy duty pay-loader in the community elicited fresh anxiety among the people, even as they expressed delight at the destruction of the crime scene that brought collateral shame to the area. Although it was not clear at press time, who gave the order for the demolition of Osigwe’s house, Vanguard gathered that the action might not be unconnected with the state administration’s stand on pulling down buildings that house criminals. Some of the indigenes of the area, who spoke to Vanguard commended the security men for “taking timely and decisive action on the house of crime.” What baffled the people most was that Osigwe never told anybody what truly happened to his mother or gave the late woman a decent burial until her lifeless body was recovered. It would be recalled that the police recently arrested Osigwe for allegedly killing his mother and keeping same for 10 years in his cupboard.

Students Banned From Wearing Metal-Bra Clasps In China's Entrance Exam

BEIJING: More than nine million students packed exam halls across China for the opening day of the country's university entrance exam on Friday -- with attempts to stop cheating even leading to bans on metal bra clasps.


Students in the northeastern province of Jilin were banned from wearing clothing with metal parts and education authorities installed metal detectors in exam centres to clamp down on "wireless cheating devices", the state-run Global Times reported.

Authorities have become increasingly concerned about the risk of examinees using devices such as smartphones -- some of which have become smaller and easier to hide -- as an illicit aid during tests.

Around 9.12 million high school students were registered across China to sit the crucially important two-day exam, known as the gaokao, an education ministry spokeswoman said.

Officials aimed to crack down on "sales of high-tech gear for cheating, and gaokao-related fraud", the Global Times said.

But users of China's Twitter-like weibos were scornful. "Everyone is paying attention to the bras. What about glasses?" said one.

The adventure started where Tippi was born in Namibia, and ended in her travelling through countries like Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

'Her everyday life was making sure monkeys did not steal her bottle,' said Sylvie.

'Or she would call me over and point to an elephant eating from a palm tree and say 'mummy, be quiet, we're going to frighten him.'

'She had so much freedom.





'It was like having the biggest playground. We lived in a tent, completely in the wild, but she always woke up with the sun shining and her parents around her. She was very lucky.'

And the incredible photos - from sitting on the back of an ostrich, lying peacefully with a young caracal, or dancing playfully with an elephant - show an unusual bond and tranquility between man and beast.

'She was so at ease with animals. She would talk to them with her eyes and her heart,' said Sylvie.

Using her innocence and imagination, the young 'Mowgli' befriended one of the giants of the animal kingdom, Abu the African elephant.

'She had no fear,' said Sylvie.













So always had to keep a special eye on her daughter.

'I had the least fear I wouldn't have let Tippi anywhere near them. The photo with Tippi next to the young lion cub Mufasa sucking her thumb is wonderful.

'The year after this photo we came back and we went to see him and he was huge.

'Mufasa came to Tippi and he friendly brushed her with his long tail, like a cat would do, and she almost fell down. I had to take her away - I was not at ease.

'But she was only ever bitten once on the nose by a Meerkat, only two bites!

'This is funny because Tippi's middle name is Okanti, meaning mongoose or meerkat. They were part of her family in Africa, so I wanted her to have something to take home with her.'

'The second incident was when she met with Cindy the baboon at a water point. Cindy attacked Tippi's hair and pulled out a handful, out of jealousy.

'That was terribly painful! Wild animals are unpredictable. We can't be sure of their reaction as we are not of the same species, we don't know all of
their behaviour codes.












When Tippi returned to her parents' native country - France - at the age of ten, it was hard adjusting to city life in Paris.

'She missed the animals so much,' said her mother Sylvie.

'We didn't have room for a dog in our flat, so we got a budgie instead.

'It would go everywhere with her, even on the train, flying right by her side, sitting on her head or falling asleep on her shoulder.

'She loved that little bird so much. He was the only friend she had.'

Now aged 23 and studying her third year in a degree in cinema, Tippi is facing a different jungle ... the concrete one.

But the memories of her time in Africa - recorded in a series of interviews and written up into the book - will forever live on through its pages.

'She gave her heart and thoughts away in her book,' said Sylvie.

'It is like Mowgli's story, but for Tippi it's true.'

Father Of 22 Children By 14 Women

A 33-year-old Nashville man who fathered as many as 22 children by 14 women has found himself at the center of one of the city's costliest child support cases - and Orlando Shaw says his youth and love of women are all to blame.

Appearing outside a courtroom recently
, Shaw, dressed in a crisp white shirt and matching Capri pants, his long hair neatly arranged in dread locks, opened up to a local TV reporter about his predicament.

'I was young and ambitious and I love women. You can't knock no man for loving women,' Shaw said with a grin.



Although Shaw told NewsChannel 5 that he is the father of 18 kids, it is believed that his brood numbers 22 offspring, whose mothers took the amorous Southern gentleman to court demanding that he pay tens of thousands of dollars in back child support.

It is estimated that the State of Tennessee spends $7,000 a month to help support all of Shaw's children.

Magistrate Scott Rosenberg said that the 33-year-old dad would have to work three of four full-time jobs to come up with the unpaid child support he owes.

However, Shaw said that his criminal record makes it difficult for him to land a stable, well-paying job. But he seems to have a fool-proof financial plan in place.

‘I play the hell out of the Tennessee lottery,’ he boasted. ‘I don’t block my blessings.'
In a moment of reflection, he then added that perhaps someone will recognize that he had turned his life around and give him a chance.

In his interview to the local station, which has since gone viral, Shaw appeared unapologetic for his youthful indiscretions.

'I love my kids and I can care less about what anyone thinks about it,' said Shaw, adding that his many children will help his family legacy live on.

'I'll be sure we'll be here for years and years to come,' he declared.

Going forward, however, the 33-year-old admitted that he plans to undergo a vasectomy, which he referred to as 'getting fixed,' in order to stop having more kids.

Shaw described himself as a good father, but said that he is currently unable to pay child support.
When challenged by the reporter to name all his kids, who are believed to range in age from infants to some as old as 18, Shaw gave it his best shot, rattling off a string of names - most of them starting with the letter 'O.'

Shaw said all of his sons except for one are named Orlando after himself.

'Hey, I got 'em, I named them, I named these kids, me!' Shaw insisted, beating himself on the chest with evident pride.

The teenage girl, who was made to start her education from primary five when her mother brought her back to her father after some years of separation, disclosed more during interrogation.

She said: "When I was reunited with my father, I was happy because I was living with an aunt in the village since my parents separated. He usually told me that I would take the place of my mother in his life since my mother had divorced him. I did not know what he meant until he started having carnal knowledge of me at night.

  At a point, I got tired and insulted him. Then, he started beating me and changed his loving nature. He would beat me and strip me naked and have his way whenever he wanted.

"When I attempted to scream, he would hit me harder and cover my mouth. He later apologized, telling me he would buy me a car. All I want at the moment is for my father to be punished for what he did to me.”

In his defense, her dad, Mr Nwafor Ikoro, described his daughter's claim as mere allegation. He said he only beat her after he discovered she was in an amorous relationship with an unnamed man.

But police suspected that the father was lying and charged him to the Igbosere Magistrate Court. Mr Nwafor Ikoro has been remanded in prison custody until his application bail would be considered.

4 Ways You Can Get An STD Without Having Sex

Health classes usually do a good job of warning students about the dangers of sexually transmitted diseases. And while you may not remember every single detail, it’s so important that you know how to protect yourself. Considering that STDs are, by definition,  “sexually transmitted,” it’s no surprise that unprotected sexual intercourse is the most common way to contract an STD. But what you might not know is that it’s still possible to contract an STD even if you have never had sex or are not currently sexually active. We’ve got the low down on the more obscure ways that you could get an STD and tips on how to stay clean.
1. Kissing
The danger of getting an STD
might not be the first thought that runs through your head when you think about making out with that cute guy at a party, but it is possible to get an STD just from kissing. When someone has type 1 herpes (also known as oral herpes), they carry it for life, says Senior Physician at Boston University Dr. Mark Weber. So even though the disease may not be visibly showing, the danger of infection still exists. However, the possibility of transmitting the disease is much lower if there is not an outbreak of sores. Dr. Weber says that another difficulty with type 1 herpes is that many people carry the disease without even knowing it.
Even though infection is sometimes possible without visible symptoms, the best way to protect yourself from getting infected by someone who has type 1 herpes is to know how to recognize it. A sore on someone’s lip that is made of small clusters of fluid-filled blisters is an indication of herpes, says Annabeth Elliott, the STD Program Coordinator at the Idaho Department of Health. She says that even if the cluster is red, crusted or scabbed over and peeling, this is still a sign of the disease.
The biggest danger of becoming infected comes when there is a break in the skin that comes in contact with sores. If you have chapped lips or other breaks in the skin and you come in contact with infected secretions, it is more likely that you will get infected than if your skin is completely intact. So if you are tempted to plant a kiss on someone with these signs, think twice before you do.
2. Oral Sex
Although some people might not consider oral sex to actually be “sex” because it does not involve vaginal penetration, it can still lead to the spread of STDs. Dr. Weber says that oral sex should still be considered as sex, despite some misconceptions that many students have, and it can lead to transmission of herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea, and other diseases. An STD can be spread during oral sex by contact with infected secretions and surfaces on the body.  Dr. Weber emphasizes that although condoms can reduce the spread of diseases, they cannot always be sure to completely prevent infection. But it is always safer to use condoms during penile-oral sex or dental dams for oral-vaginal sex.
“Avoiding sex when you have any breaks in the skin or other involved bodily tissue which may come in contact with another person can be protective as well,” Dr. Weber says.
3. Dry Sex
Also described as body-to-body rubbing, Elliott says that dry sex can spread herpes even though there is no penetration or bodily fluids involved. But the only way that herpes could be spread by dry humping is if there is skin-to-skin contact, which means that you are safe if clothes are kept on. But if there is skin-to-skin contact, Dr. Weber says that infectious material from warts (HPV) and other viral or bacterial infection could be present. The risk of transmission depends on the amount of infection that someone has and the number and severity of breaks in the skin. Dr. Weber also warns about shaving “down there,” and how that can increase the risk of infection as well.
“The popularity of shaving the hair in various areas of the body including the genital area has the potential to increase the transmission of infections because of the risk of even small breaks in the skin,” Weber says. “Stubble from hair growing back can be very abrasive to the other person’s skin, and the blade used can itself pick up infectious material from one part of your skin and spread it to another.”  So keep this in mind during your next down-there grooming sesh.
4. Indirect Contact
Even though a sexually transmitted disease or infection usually implies an infection that is transmitted through intimate contact, Dr. Weber says that it is possible to get an STD in indirect ways. One example is sitting on a toilet seat. Dr. Weber says that while transmission of an STD from sitting on a toilet seat is possible if there is infectious material on the seat that comes in contact with a break in the skin, it is pretty unlikely. But, when in doubt, squat instead of sit down on public toilets.
Another possible indirect way that STDs can be spread is through a damp or moist object, such as a towel, coming in contact with infected areas. Elliott says that the disease Trichomoniasis, more commonly known as Trich, is a parasite that can live outside the body for up to 45 minutes. She recommends that a way to prevent the possibility of spreading diseases is by not sharing damp or moist items like clothing or towels that touch down below.  And while some people might think that you can get Trich from a hot tub, Elliott says this is a myth because it would be too hot in this environment for the parasites to live.
Dr. Weber also points out that sharing needles, razors, or other cutting devices with someone who has an STD can also spread diseases because they are items that break skin contact and let the infections into the body, so avoid sharing these items at all to be safe.
How To Stay In The Clear
One of the easiest ways to protect yourself against STDs is simply to know whether your partner has been tested, if he has had other partners since the last time he was tested, and what his sexual relationships have been like in the past. And by limiting the number of sexual partners you have, you reduce the chances of coming into contact with someone with an STD.
“It is important for each person to think about the risks they are willing to take for intimacy and sex,” Dr. Weber says.
Dr. Weber suggests that you can minimize the potential of breaks in the skin by using lubricant to cut down on friction, which can also reduce direct skin-to-skin contact. By not combining intimacy with mind-altering substances, like alcohol and drugs, you can be in your best state of mind to use the best protection on a consistent basis. And make sure to always have protection available so that you’re not left scrambling or making rash decisions when things start to get hot and heavy.

Condoms, narcotic drugs flood Boko Haram camps

Indications that Boko Haram insurgents who say they are against Western education and anything to do with the west have been deceitful emerged yesterday after troops found packs of condoms, used and unused in their camps.

Also found were syringes and narcotic drugs believed to have been used by the insurgents to get high before embarking on their deadly attacks.

A statement by the Director Defence Information Brig-General Chris Olukolade entitled, Life in Terrorists Camp: Condoms Everywhere, reads, More of the dirty sides of the insurgents life style are being revealed as troops continue to stumble on strange and bizarre objects such as several used and unused condoms as well as charms and amulets of various shapes seen in the captured terrorists camps.

Other common items are syringes, test tubes and hand gloves usually found in the rubbles of most of the destroyed camps.

Apart from chemicals and materials for producing Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) narcotics of all types are also found to be common features as troops combed through camps in Sambisa forest, New Marte, and others.

Meanwhile, Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Assessment teams are in Yobe and Adamawa States to update the reports on the conduct of security operations in those states since deployment of troops in line with the State of Emergency.

The outcome will also be presented for DHQ’s further strategic guidelines for the subsequent phase of the operations.

Video clips on civilian casualty is fake
The Defence Headquarters has noted the dissemination through the channels of Aljazeera Television reports alleging massive civilian casualties in the ongoing security operations.

It wishes to point out that the video clip being shown on the Aljazeera reports has no bearing whatsoever on the current reality in the operations areas.

It is noted in particular that the footages being referred to as civilian casualties were actually pictures of the destruction perpetrated by the terrorists at the police stations and prisons in Bama, Borno State on 7 May 2013 when the insurgents attacked the town.
